Placemats for fashion?
When I was a little girl, my mom used to cut holes in the center of placemats and we’d put them over our head. So they functioned as decorative collar to go with my puffed sleeved, tea length dresses. Sometimes she’d make matching ones for her and my sister, and then we’d head down to Olan Mills for a photo in front of a forest backdrop.
And for some reason…I can’t stop laughing about that today.
this is probably about the same time that my face was covered by the enormous sophia loren glasses my mother chose for her very small daughter to wear.
